FORESTRY & LAND

A key focus of the estates business activities is sustainable, nature-oriented forestry. The House of Fugger-Babenhausen manages forest and woodland areas in Bavaria according to the most modern ecological and economic principles.

The assets have been in the family for approximately 500 years,

and we continue to follow a multi-generational land management concept.

Our healthy forests boast a rich biodiversity of numerous native deciduous and coniferous trees, which are supported by a concept of natural regeneration and the creation of biotopes.

Our forest cemeteries offer an alternative to the traditional types of final resting places. The woodland locations blend seamlessly into the natural environment and allow for dignified urn burials by a tree.
We invite you to learn more about the concept and our locations in Babenhausen, Markt Wald and Dasing.

PROPERTIES & HERITAGE

The real estate division manages properties, ranging from castles and estate buildings to residential and commercial buildings. In addition, it oversees the leasing out of agricultural land and fish farming areas, alongside other properties, including the golf course in Burgwalden , the castle restaurant in Wellenburg, and the Damenhof in the Fugger Houses.

The castle complexes in Augsburg and Babenhausen, as well as the Fugger Houses in Augsburg, are historical monuments whose preservation is demanding. Careful stewardship and economic development are essential for maintaining and preserving this cultural heritage. As one component of this effort, the Princely Fugger-Babenhausen Foundation for the Promotion of Swabian Cultural Heritage was established.
